Sjonic Digital Media becomes NOBEARS Utrecht
Digital agency NOBEARS gives shape to ambitions with growth in the central Netherlands.
Heusden / IJsselstein - Internet company NOBEARS (Heusden) is adding digital agency Sjonic Digital Media (IJsselstein) to its group of companies. The takeover means a second location for NOBEARS and a regional presence in the central Netherlands. Sjonic will change his name to NOBEARS Utrecht. With the addition of the company, NOBEARS increases its strength and creates an organization with more than forty professionals in the digital field. The agencies are a perfect match, because NOBEARS and Sjonic both focus on digital strategy, design, development and marketing; both for clients and for self-developed ventures. Sjonic currently works for Jumpsquare, Municipality of Utrecht, Health Investment and Vocking Worst, among others. In addition, the agency has its first self-developed venture with Gifty.nl - the platform behind the national campaign #HelpDeHoreca.
Talks between NOBEARS and Sjonic started last year. The completion takes place in a period when the world is turned upside down. However, both agencies are of the opinion that creativity and a different look at strategy, technology and marketing are of great importance in these times. As a digital venture partner, NOBEARS works together with customers to ensure stability, continuity and growth. In order to be and remain successful in times of crisis.
Within a few months, the Sjonic agency will undergo a rebranding to NOBEARS Utrecht. Founder Sjon Sluys leaves the agency and will continue to focus on Gifty. Toon van Overbruggen will remain as co-shareholder and operational director of the IJsselstein branch.
After a first acquaintance, we immediately saw many similarities in the way of working, but especially also in terms of culture.
Dustin Karelse, co-founder and owner of NOBEARS: “Sjonic approached us in 2019 with a message via Linkedin. After a first acquaintance, we immediately saw many similarities in the way of working, but especially also in terms of culture. Coincidentally, we had just decided at NOBEARS to grow through an acquisition. We have worked hard for this and we are proud that we can take this step on our own. ”
According to Karelse, the reason for the takeover is simple: “We are entrepreneurial and want to grow in size and especially in talent to be able to continue to meet the increasing customer demand. Then it helps if we also move to another location. The timing was perfect and our ambition is to look at other acquisitions in the future that match our specializations. We are not in a hurry with this; it must feel good, be of added value and come our way. ”
What appealed to us about NOBEARS is that they do business differently from many other internet agencies. NOBEARS has found a way to collaborate with customers in an entrepreneurial way.
